WHAT STATES ARE AFFECTED BY CREEPING INDIGO?

Currently, in the USA, Creeping Indigo has been confirmed to be in FLORIDA, GEORGIA, ALABAMA & HAWAII

It is a sub-tropical weed and cannot survive very cold weather so, it is NOT A RISK in northern states.

It could survive in other SOUTHERN states however, if it makes it there either by crawling there, being tranported there in hay or manure of animals that have consumed it and also tires and landscaping equipment.

We are suspicious that it has reached the states that border Florida: Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi- and we are keeping an eye out the best we can with members we've networked with in those states.

CI awareness all over the USA is beneficial for this reason and also for those who travel to the south. However, there has been NO EVIDENCE that it is an issue ANYWHERE ELSE to date.
